Our Rodent Control Process

When you request help, you should know what happens next and which decisions need your approval. The process starts with your account of the problem and leads to an inspection, an agreed scope and follow-up suited to the findings.

The steps below explain how we arrange your service and the decisions we agree with you. Your appointment confirmation and written proposal establish the work, schedule and terms for your property.

START WITH THE PROPERTY

Share the signs, physical service ZIP and any earlier work. Confirm the inspection fee and scope with us before booking.

1. Describe the problem and confirm coverage

Share the physical property ZIP, affected rooms and signs you have noticed. A sighting, droppings, scratching in the attic or a recurring odor can each lead to a different assessment.

You do not need to identify the species or select a package. Mention previous treatment, pets and any urgency around occupancy or arriving guests. Coverage is checked against the approved ZIP boundary; appointment availability is confirmed separately.

2. Agree on the inspection visit

Before the appointment, confirm the inspection scope, fee and available access. Tell our team about locked areas, attic entrances and any restrictions on entering the property.

For a rental or managed building, identify who can provide access and who approves work. If you are away from the property, agree how findings and recommendations will be communicated.

3. Review the findings and proposed work

The assessment should explain observed evidence, suspected routes and areas that could not be checked. Ask for clarification where a recommendation depends on something concealed or uncertain.

The proposed work may include removal, repairs, follow-up and cleanup. These items should be identifiable in the scope so you can understand their purpose and cost. Documentation such as photographs or a written report depends on the service agreed when booking.

Review the cost guide if you need help comparing the inclusions in a proposal.

4. Approve a plan for removal and entry-point work

Where active rodents are identified, agree on the control measures and how they will be checked. We will explain necessary precautions around occupants and pets.

If exclusion repairs are included, the plan needs to coordinate them with the activity inside the building. Confirm which openings will be addressed and whether a roofer, electrician, HVAC specialist or other trade must complete a related task.

For species-specific service details, see rat removal or mice removal.

5. Complete checks and assess progress

Agree on the checking schedule before treatment begins. Know who returns, what access is required and how to report a sighting between visits.

Follow-up should assess the available evidence and the work performed. If activity continues, our team may need to investigate a remaining route or revise the scope. Ask how additional visits or repairs would be authorized and charged.

Report changes accurately: which room, what sign and when it occurred. Those details are more useful than assuming every new sound proves the original treatment failed.

6. Address cleanup and restoration if needed

Where affected areas need attention, agree on the cleanup scope and how it fits with the control work. Identify materials proposed for removal and any replacement or building restoration required.

If odor is the main concern, dead rodent assessment may be appropriate. Access and the evidence still determine what can be done; an odor complaint does not guarantee a visible or reachable source.

7. Review completed work and remaining responsibilities

Ask for a summary of the work completed and any outstanding recommendations. Confirm whether return visits are included and what circumstances fall outside the agreed scope.

If there is a warranty or recurring arrangement, keep its written terms. Know whom to contact, what information to provide and whether a later repair by another contractor affects the agreement.

When you are arranging service for someone else

A property owner, manager or family member may be coordinating the work remotely. Identify the on-site contact and the person who approves costs, access and changes.

For a shared building, confirm whether common components are included. A clear approval route helps avoid unfinished work because access or responsibility was never agreed.

Process questions

Do I need to be home for every visit?

Confirm access arrangements with us. Some visits may require access to occupied rooms or direct discussion; other arrangements depend on the property and service plan.

How often are traps checked?

The schedule must be specified for your treatment plan. This website does not assume an every-other-day or weekly interval.

What if I hear movement after treatment starts?

Record the location and time and notify our team using the agreed contact method. Continued signs need assessment in the context of the plan and its progress.

Will the estimate include all repairs?

Only the work described in the agreed scope is included. Ask about building repairs, access work and restoration before approving the proposal.
